Scouting for Food
What it is, and Why it's Important
Scouting for Food is one of BSA's many ways to give back to its community. It is a program to help our neighbors who are less fortunate, by collecting donated non-perishable foods for them. In this program, the Scouts help gather bags of non-perishables from neighborhoods and churches, and then deliver them to the local, Loaves and Fishes distribution center.
This Year
Troop 323 will distribute door hangers on January 31 in the Carrington Ridge and nearby neighborhoods and collect bags/boxes from homeowners on Saturday February 4th at 9:00 am. After that, we will take the food to the Loaves and Fishes collection center at the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson. On those days, the Troop will be meeting at the River Run Country Club Swim and Tennis Center. Please check out the Sign-Up Genius (main page) for this event and sign up for the dates that you can help. We need adult drivers and many youth to distribute and collect bags. The goal is always to provide the maximum to people in need in our community.
